About us
Beef & Beans Ltd. is a newly formed joint venture between the National Enterprise Corporation (NEC) and leading international partners, including Ironbridge, Stewart-Marshall-Industries, and AMZ GmbH. Our company marks a significant step in strengthening local production and reducing Uganda’s dependence on imports. Through our innovative and sustainable approach, we are setting new standards in meat processing and canning.
Our goal
Our main goal is to significantly reduce the annual meat imports to Uganda and replace them with high-quality products from our own production. With a modern abattoir and sophisticated canning production, we not only provide fresh, local meat products, but also contribute to reducing CO2 emissions by minimising environmentally harmful supply chains. Our initiatives not only promote sustainable and responsible food production, but also strengthen the national currency and support the local economy.
Our partnerships
- Ironbridge: As a prime contractor, Ironbridge brings extensive experience in delivering green, efficient and cost-effective solutions for sustainable industrialisation. Their expertise in technology transfer and knowledge sharing is key to our joint success.
- Stewart-Marshall-Industries: This company supports us in the development and implementation of innovative technical systems and equipment. With their wide-ranging expertise in mechanical engineering, plant construction and automation technology, they guarantee the latest technology and maximum efficiency in our processes.
- AMZ GmbH: Our laboratory operator, AMZ GmbH, ensures that working conditions are harmless to health and that all legal regulations are complied with. Their expertise ensures that we meet the highest standards in occupational and veterinary medicine.
- Lazarus Union: This internationally active non-governmental organisation monitors compliance with the fundamental values of the Global Compact, particularly in the areas of human rights, labour standards, the environment and anti-corruption. It ensures that our projects are in line with the sustainability goals of the United Nations.
